DonnyWorld History
In the summer of 1994 DonnyWorld, Inc. created the original
Real-Time Animation Chat(tm). This DOS-based client-server product, unique
and ahead of its time, was marketed to operators of asynchronous dial-up on-line systems
(BBS's), during the period that the Internet was in its infancy. We operated our first
full-time 8-line Real-Time Animation Chat(tm) server during
the summer of 1995, and garnered favorable reviews in the Boston Globe and the
Mass High Tech journal by
autumn of 1995.
On August 7, 1996 DonnyWorld, Inc. announced our Real-Time Animation
Chat(tm) product for Windows 3.1 and displayed the working prototype at the ONE
ISPCON trade show in San Francisco. We received a tremendous response including coverage on
San Jose's KNTV six o'clock television news program. Our first customer installation at
at a Boston-area Internet Service Provider was completed on schedule on November 15, 1996.
On September 1, 1997 we released the newest version of our
Animation Chat(tm) featuring a Java(tm) Client applet, which greatly improves upon
the original product by adding seamless integration with the Web, and platform independence
for participants.
On May 1, 1999 DonnyWorld, Inc. announced our new
Animation Chat Personal Server(tm) for Windows 95(tm) and Windows 98(tm), featuring
family-safe access controls.
On March 22, 2001 we released version 2.0 of our
Animation Chat Personal Server(tm) for Windows 95/98/NT/2000, featuring
family-safe access controls.
